Review

Winning Eleven is a soccer/football video game series made by Konami Tokyo.
World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 International is one of Konami's best soccer games developed so far, which brings a number of really relevant enhancements on and off the field.
The main new feature of this version is that it presents a challenge training mode which includes at least 40 varied tests for the player to complete, which test the skills in eight different soccer movements: attacking, defending, short passing, dribbling, free kick, long passing, free kick shooting, manual passing and ball possession.
All the challenges presented are to be faced using the very same controls and they are viewed by the same camera angles as the rest of the game, but they require performing very specific tasks. The dribbling, for example, requires you to run through groups of cones within a time limit, while the free kick challenges make the player aim at increasingly smaller targets. Once you have beaten a challenge, players obtain access to a more complex one, and they are also awarded a set of "WEN points" to spend in the WE-Shop.
The game also supports online playing.
  • Great challenge mode with varied levels of difficulty
  • Online support is not very good.
